Adrian Durham took a dig at West Bromwich Albion supporters over the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

The broadcaster claimed that Baggies fans had been ‘telling’ everyone that their club had the best squad in the league this season, yet there were no WBA players in the PFA’s Team of the Year.

Durham then proceeded to add further fuel to the fire by claiming that perhaps ex-manager Darren Moore was doing well just to get the team into fourth place.

“West Brom fans have been telling us they’ve got the best squad, no West Brom players in the Team of the Year,” said Durham on talkSPORT (17:55, Wednesday April 24th)

“So maybe Darren Moore was doing well having them fourth after all.”

OPINION

It’s true, there are no West Brom players in the PFA’s Championship Team of the Year, as covered by Sky Sports, but did Durham really have to use that to take a dig at WBA? No, he had no need to fire a dig in the club’s direction. Durham seems to be in a feud with West Brom supporters ever since he went on talkSPORT and ranted about the sacking of Moore. However despite Moore having not been in charge of the Baggies for a number of games now, it seems the broadcaster isn’t going to stop picking on Baggies fans. Also it’s strange how he believes West Brom fans have been bragging about the quality of their squad this season, as they can’t be the only supporters guilty of this. There’s probably plenty of Aston Villa fans, Leeds supporters and even Middlesbrough fans who claim their team have their best squad, despite none of them sitting top of the table. It’s natural for fans to big up their team, so it’s unclear why he thinks that is worth taking a dig over.
