OPINION
Roy Keane grabbed the attention of pretty much every football fan on Wednesday night when he tore Manchester United’s underperforming players to shreds on Sky Sports. The former Republic of Ireland international was roundly praised for not holding back when criticising the Old Trafford flops, and he has also triggered some Celtic fans into calling for him to head to Parkhead in the near future. The Bhoys are without a permanent manager with Neil Lennon only in caretaker charge until the end of the season, so there are some suggesting that Keane would be a good appointment for the club in the summer. Keane has had a hit-and-miss management career so far and while he would not be a terrible choice as the next manager at Celtic Park, he is perhaps someone that Peter Lawwell should pass on. Celtic need someone who they know can deliver them their 10th title in a row and who has experience of managing in European football. Keane would be a massive risk and one that should be avoided despite what these fans are saying. However if there was an opportunity for the Bhoys to hire Keane as an assistant manager, that would not be a bad addition to the staff.

I said before xmas I’d like to see Keane as Celtic manager one day. I’ve not changed my mind. Different animal from previous jobs. He’s also box office.

Still think Roy Keane will be in Dermot Desmonds mind for the Celtic job.
