Steve Bull has drooled over the impact Wolves winger Diogo Jota made in the 3-1 win over Arsenal on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old was among the three goalscorers at the Molineux that evening, with Ruben Neves and Matt Doherty also joining him on the scoresheet – but Bull was particularly impressed by Jota, a player he thinks is capable of “bringing a smile to your face”.

He says that it took a while for Jota to get familiar with the demands of the Premier League this season, but reckons that he now looks like he has played in the top-flight for a while.

“The front two were excellent, with Diogo Jota in particular just bringing a smile to your face,” he said in his Express and Star column.

“Of course, it took him a bit of time to get used to the bright lights of the top flight, but he now looks like he has been a Premier League player for years.”

OPINION

Jota did struggle in the division when Wolves were first promoted, and some fans may have even questioned whether he was up to the task of playing in the Premier League. However, in the last few months in particular, Jota has been rather impressive. He is one of the players who has contributed hugely to Wolves’ unprecedented success this season, and it is safe to say that his link-up play with teammate Raul Jimenez has struck fear into most defenders. This is only the tip of the iceberg for him though, because at the age of 22, he has the potential to get even better than he is now. The impact he could make on the league this season will have the fans excited with trepidation – and when Jimenez signs permanently, then they will surely be in dreamland. He may have struggled at the start, but Jota has really come into his own.
