Rangers defensive duo Joe Worrall and Borna Barisic are fit to face Hearts on Saturday afternoon, according to the Daily Record.

Worrall, 22, had been suffering with a knee problem, while Barisic, 26, had sustained an issue with his hamstring – but both defenders have been named in the provisional squad for the Scottish Premiership clash on Saturday.

The Gers can prevent rivals Celtic from winning the league title for another week if they manage to secure all three points against Hearts.

OPINION

Steven Gerrard will no doubt want to ruin Celtic’s party for one more week if they can get a win over Hearts on Saturday, and that bid will have been boosted by the return of these two players. Barisic will likely return on the left if he is given the greenlight to go ahead and play, however, the same cannot be said for Worrall. He has not had the best season at Rangers, and the likelihood of them extending his loan spell from Nottingham Forest is very slim indeed. He just has not showed the credentials to be a success at the club, and with the likes of Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic as first choice centre-backs, he is not going to get his foot in the door any time soon. Gerrard is unlikely to change that partnership around as we approach the end of the season, so it looks like that he will be returning to Forest having had an underwhelming experience.
