Izzy Brown was injured in the Leeds Under-23 game last night against Coventry.

The Chelsea loanee picked up a knock early in the second-half of the game but was unable to shake it off.

He was substituted off in the 56th minute of the game where it was reported that he went straight down the tunnel.

There’s been no word yet as to how serious it is or whether he’ll be able to make the bench for the final game of the season against Ipswich.

Updates from the game were reported by Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Joe Urquhart, and Leeds went on to win the game 3-2 in extra-time.

OPINION

Izzy Brown has had a torrid time of things at Leeds this season and he certainly wouldn’t have been expecting to be restricted to the Under-23s after his loan move form Chelsea. However, he arrived with an injury that turned out to be worse than Leeds expected and he wasn’t ruled fit until December. Then he suffered a setback and only made his debut in February. That was a late cameo appearance for just nine minute against QPR when he looked, perhaps understandably, off the pace. He’s not been given another run in the first-team yet and if the injury is bad then he’ll have played his last game in white before his return to Chelsea. It didn’t look good last night and he went straight down the tunnel after being subbed off. We should hear more about the severity of the injury on Tuesday. Fingers crossed he’s okay as there are plenty of Leeds fans who still think he can play a part in the play-offs.
