It was a baffling decision by West Brom to sack Darren Moore to begin with, but to not have a replacement lined up, with 10 games to play this season, it simply ridiculous. Many Baggies fans are understandably in meltdown over the news that interest in Slavisa Jokanovic has cooled and James Shan could be handed the job for the rest of the campaign. Sun journalist Mike McGrath claimed the news via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday, saying that current caretaker boss Shan could bag the job until the summer if he earns positive results against Swansea on Wednesday night and Brentford on Saturday. Where is the sense in sacking Moore, when West Brom are fourth, only to replace him with someone who is not qualified for the job? Shan is a good coach and has done well to rise through the ranks at West Brom having started off coaching the Under-7s. However he would not be able to do anything that Moore didn’t do. If he does get good results this week, Moore probably would have too, showing how poor a decision it was to axe the ex-Albion defender so late in the campaign.
