West Brom are plotting an offer worth £38,000-a-week to hire Slavisa Jokanovic as their next manager, according to TeamTalk.

The news outlet claims that the former Fulham boss is demanding that sum to take charge at The Hawthorns, and Albion are considering his demands, plus a hefty added bonus if he achieves promotion this season.

It is understood that if West Brom cannot hire Jokanovic then Derek McInnes and Carlos Carvahal are their back-up options.

Good move for West Brom?

It is a lot of money for a Championship club to offer a manager but Jokanovic is one of the best at getting teams in the Premier League, having done it twice in the last few years with both Watford and Fulham.

West Brom are fourth in the table going into their game against Swansea at The Hawthorns on Wednesday night, and they need to win pretty much all of their remaining games if they want to stand any chance of finishing in the automatic promotion spots.

If the Baggies are going to go up then they will more than likely have to do it by the play-offs, which Jokanovic won last season when Fulham beat Derby in the semi-finals and Aston Villa in the final.

He would be a very good appointment for West Brom and they should definitely meet his demands.

Likely to happen?

Jokanovic’s demands are not too ridiculous so West Brom should definitely consider meeting them when the Serbian boss stands a chance of getting this team into the Premier League.

However the Baggies have always historically gone for the cheaper option, so they could definitely end up getting someone like Carvahal in if he wants less money than Jokanovic.
