When this summer comes around it will have been a year and a half since Tottenham last signed somebody – Lucas Moura their last arrival back in January 2018 – and that barren run just cannot last any longer.

If the Lilywhites do want to establish themselves as regular top four contenders, they have got to not only recruit new talent to their side but improve year on year as their rivals are doing.

It seems unlikely that Mauricio Pochettino would accept yet another transfer window without a single new signing and so Daniel Levy must be working with the Argentine as well as the transfer team in north London to get the right targets through the door.

One man who seems firmly on the club’s radar is Norwich City’s teenage sensation Max Aarons, the 19-year-old establishing himself as a mainstay in the Canaries’ hunt for automatic promotion from the Championship.

The Mirror claim a summer move of around £15million is on the cards after missing out on the chance to sign him in January but it seems their failure to swoop has brought fresh attention to his talents, namely from Manchester City.

TeamTalk claim that the Premier League title hopefuls are keen on a big money raid for the Canaries starlet, who only made his first team debut this season, again with a £15million price on his head.

With City’s scouts said to believe he would have an immediate impact at Premier League level, Spurs cannot afford to lose him to their top flight counterparts, especially with the erratic form of Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier.

Seeing him line up in light blue instead of white next season would be gutting for Pochettino’s men and they would be kicking themselves after failing to sign him up in January.
