Tottenham have all but sealed the signing of ex-West Ham teenager Ferdinand Okoh, according to All Nigeria Soccer.

The news outlet claims that the “Nigerian starlet” has penned a contract with Spurs, but the club are yet to announce the deal.

It is understood that the 15-year-old midfielder has agreed to join the North London club until he reaches Under-16 level, when a decision will be made on the next scholarship intake.

Okoh left West Ham a year ago but is said to have made “remarkable progress” since then.

Good move for Tottenham?

It remains to be seen.

Okoh sounds as though he has worked very hard to improve himself since leaving West Ham, and the fact that he has been scooped up by Spurs surely means that he is a talented young player.

All Nigeria Soccer claim that Okoh has been described as having a good range of passing, which is surely going to help him to impress in the Spurs youth set-up as he aims to become professional in the future.

Spurs are not really taking any risks here. Signing youth players costs next to nothing for Premier League clubs and Okoh could end up beingĀ  a very good player in the future.

Likely to happen?

All Nigeria Soccer report suggests that the deal is all but done, and their report includes an image of the teenager appearing to put pen to paper on a contract.

Spurs are not likely to announce the arrival of players into their youth set-up, so the first we will hear of this move will perhaps be when Okoh is officially registered and takes to the pitch in a Spurs shirt.
