Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to make up for lost time in the summer transfer window having not spent any money in his past two opportunities to do so.

One man who he apparently has his eye on is Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen. The Daily Mirror reported in January that the Argentine was keen on bringing the 22-year-old to the new White Hart Lane.

Pochettino was right to covet the Englishman and now he must ensure that he pulls the trigger on the Tigers star come the summer. Simply put, Bowen is a player who could instantly improve this Spurs side as well as possessing fantastic long term potential.

At just 22 he’s only going to get better moving forward – and he’s pretty good as it is. He’s bagged 20 goals in all competitions this season, a stunning tally for a winger.

Out of all their wingers Spurs only really get that sort of production from Son Heung-min. Lucas Moura’s early season form seems like a distant memory now, while Erik Lamela has generally flattered to deceive throughout his time in North London.

Bowen, though, is a regular goal-getter. He scored a brace in his team’s 2-2 draw with Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, continuing the stunning form he has produced all season long.

He is what this Tottenham team is missing. Yes, the step up to the Premier League is a big one, but Bowen looks like he’s capable of it. Besides, he has plenty of time to improve under Pochettino’s stewardship.

Imagine Bowen and Son playing in support of striker Harry Kane – that’s a trio that screams goals. The Spurs faithful would love to see that attacking line up playing together in the near future.

Pochettino must ensure that he wins what will likely be a heated race for the Hull man this summer. If he does, Tottenham could be onto a serious winner.
