OPINION
It is not hard to see why so many Tottenham fans are furious with South Korea’s reported decision to include Heung-min Son in their squad for the upcoming international break. ESPN has reported that Son, 26, has been called up by Paulo Bento to play in friendlies against Bolivia and Colombia, but the Spurs attacker has already been involved in three international tournaments for South Korea in the last 10 months and his form lately shows that he needs a rest. South Korea are surely not going to learn much about themselves and about Son in these pointless friendly games. The former Bayer Leverkusen ace has been poor in recent weeks and if he had the next two weeks off, then he could rediscover the form that he found earlier in the season. Mauricio Pochettino is surely furious with Bento’s decision as well, especially as Tottenham are without a win in four Premier League games. The £140,000-a-week (Spotrac) player needs a rest and he needs his national team to help him avoid suffering from burn out.

We should be telling them he’s injured as it happens he doesn’t look fully fit at the minute he was in sparkling form but has dropped off dramatically
