Neil McCann has drooled over Rangers winger Daniel Candeias, labelling him as the club’s “success story”.

The Sky Sports pundit reckons that the 31-year-old has all of the attibutes in order to survive in an environment like the Scottish Premiership, whilst also heaping praise on his work rate.

McCann likes how the Gers flyer is able to deal with the physicality that comes his way, and added that his understanding with striker Alfredo Morelos is clear to see.

“I think Candeias is a success story, I like his work rate and he has the attributes to survive in Scottish football,” he said, as quoted by the Evening Times.

“He can deal with the physicality, he puts himself around and as a wide player you have to work. That is a given. There are not many wide players that get away with that.

“The way Rangers are operating now, there is a real understanding, especially with Morelos. [Ryan] Kent on the other side has been a fantastic signing and he has grown as well.”

OPINION

Many people are usually full of praise for Gers striker Morelos, so it is nice to see one of his teammates take the limelight for a change. Candeias is arguably one of the most underrated players at Ibrox, but it is clear to see that the contribution he makes is invaluable. McCann said that he has the qualities to survive in the Scottish Premiership, and it is hard not to agree with him on that one – he is a player who works extremely hard, and that does not usually go unnoticed by the fans. His understanding with Morelos has come into fruition recently, and with Kent playing on the opposite flank, it is no wonder that Rangers can often be a huge threat up front. Having played for the likes of Benfica in the past, Candeias is just the man for the role – so fingers crossed he keeps it up for the rest of the season.
