Eintracht Frankfurt are to watch Alfredo Morelos in action when Rangers face Hibernian at Easter Road on Friday night, according to the Express.

The newspaper reports on their website that the Europa League side will have representatives at the clash to watch the Gers striker in action after deciding that they wanted to see him for themselves.

The report adds that the Bundesliga outfit will have to smash their current transfer record – £7 million to sign Sebastien Haller from Utrecht two seasons ago – in order to sign the Colombian star.

Good move for Rangers?

No, absolutely not! This is pretty obvious, isn’t it? Morelos is key to Rangers’ success and they would find it pretty hard to find a suitable replacement for him, so selling him would not be a wise idea in the slightest. Yes, Frankfurt would have to smash their current transfer record to sign him, but they would have to do a lot to persuade Steven Gerrard to sell. They must not sell him under any circumstances – unless a very attractive offer comes in from Frankfurt.

Likely to happen?

The amount of clubs that are queuing up to register their interest in Morelos is growing by the day, so who knows what the likelihood of Frankfurt signing him is. The fact that they have decided to scout him on Friday night is a step in the right direction for them, and this is when they will be convinced whether to continue pursuing him or not. Other clubs are in the race for Morelos though, so the likelihood of signing him is slim.
