Eintracht Frankfurt sent their sporting director Fredi Bobic to cast his eye over Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos on Friday night, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper reports on its website that Bobic was sent to spy on the 22-year-old forward at Easter Road on Friday, where Morelos failed to get on the scoresheet in a 1-1 draw with Hibernian.

The report adds that he was accompanied by agent James Lippett, who works for the Colombian’s representatives – and despite the fact Morelos did not score, the Bundesliga side have not been put off trying to sign the Ibrox star.

Good move for Rangers?

No, absolutely not! It was previously reported that Frankfurt were planning on sending someone out to watch Morelos in action, and now it has has been reported that there was actually someone there watching him, the Gers now face the possibility of them making an offer. However, this does not mean that they have to accept any bid that comes their way – they just need to reject them, no matter how tempting they are. Morelos has just signed a contract extension, so leaving should be the last thing on his mind.

Likely to happen?

The fact that Morelos was watched by Frankfurt makes the possibility of him moving even more likely to happen.

Nevertheless, the likelihood of the Gers giving into temptation is not. They know where they stand in terms of Morelos’ future at the club, and they made this pretty clear by extending his stay until 2023. Rangers would like to think that this move would put interested parties off signing him, but it looks like it has had the opposite effect.
