Fenerbahce scouts have identified Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos as a potential signing, according to CNN Turk.

The Turkish news outlet report on their website that the 22-year-old has been shortlisted as one of four forwards that the Super Lig club could sign, with a decision set to be made by Fenerbahce manager Ersun Yanal.

The report adds that after conducting several transfer missions they have also identified Copenhagen forward Robert Skov, Metz ace Habib Diallo and DC United star Luciano Acosta alongside Morelos.

Morelos recently signed a deal that keeps him at Ibrox until 2023.

Good move for Rangers?

How many clubs are going to be interested in Morelos? A lot, it seems. The stance still remains the same though – the club should not sell Morelos under any circumstances. He scored his 29th goal of the season against Kilmarnock on Saturday, so it is no surprise that the scouts have targeted him as a potential signing. Either way though, to say this would be a good move for the Gers would be very unwise.

Likely to happen?

At the moment, a move does not seem to be on the cards for the summer. After all, Fenerbahce have only identified him as a potential signing – there is nothing concrete yet. Rangers will find it tough to keep hold of him in the summer, as there are so many clubs chasing him. However, they must take comfort from the fact that he has penned a new deal recently, which shows some sort of commitment towards the club.
