Is there anything as exciting for a football fans as knowing that you have a youngster with the potential to be genuinely top class in the academy and just waiting for his chance to shine on the big stage? Celtic fans certainly won’t think so, especially after another barnstorming performance from Karamoko Dembele in the youth side’s late 3-2 win over Hearts. The 16-year-old has had heads turning and tongues wagging in Glasgow for some time now, and with another stellar outing under his belt, Hoops fans will be hoping it’s just a matter of time before he makes his bow for the senior team. Monday afternoon saw him register a goal and an assist, firing in the free kick that led to the Bhoys’ opener and then finding the back of the net himself late on to ensure the win – and the prodigy also found time to hit the bar for good measure. Usually, when a player is as hyped as Dembele is, you’re setting him up for a fall, but you can’t help feeling that this boy might be the real deal. With every passing milestone in his career, he approaches it and hurdles it without breaking a sweat, and big things are surely on the horizon.
