Steven Gerrard must act quickly to address the form of Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack as he was woeful in the 2-0 loss against Aberdeen on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old central midfielder has consistently delivered the goods for the Gers this season and has been a player that Gerrard could trust whomever the opponent was.

Jack has scored three goal, while assisting three, in his 38 appearances this season and has regularly pulled the strings for his side.

However the midfielder like many of his teammates struggled against Aberdeen when his side needed him most.

Jack struggled to win the midfield battle for his side as he was regularly muscled off the ball and his passes regularly missed the mark which saw his side carelessly lose possession.

This was quite the surprise as the midfielder is usually reliable and for this reason Gerrard will probably be more worried that the midfielder struggled more so than any of his teammates.

Jack transformed for the worst against Aberdeen and you have to be concerned that it may not have been a one-off blip.

For this reason Gerrard has to either axe Jack for the upcoming clash with Kilmarnock in the hope that sitting a game out, will see him return to his usual self when selected or at least have a word in his ear to see what the problem was on Tuesday.

The Rangers manager shouldn’t wait around to address Jack’s poor performance as time is of the essence and he shouldn’t want to risk one of his key players going on a bad run of form.

As it would be better to nip it in the bud before it becomes even more of a problem.
