Motherwell manager Steven Robinson has said that Jake Hastie has a “decision to make” after heavy speculation linked the 20-year-old with a move to Rangers.
He also made an honest revelation, saying that Motherwell couldn’t “pull money out of nowhere”.
Robinson was talking at his pre-match press conference and insisted that his player was “concentrating on tomorrow’s game” against Hamilton.
This comes after BT broadcaster Darrell Currie had said that it “looked like” Hastie would sign for Rangers. The youngster is out of contract in the summer and free to sign a pre-contract agreement.

OPINION
This was a fairly revealing comment from Robinson. It seems that Hastie is on the brink of a blockbuster move to Rangers and the Scotland Under-21 winger will be a fine addition for Steven Gerrard. Young and very talented, he’s the sort of player Rangers fans will want after a number of more experienced players joined this campaign. It seems it’s only a matter of time and it must be disruptive for Motherwell, who will probably want to get things sorted as soon as possible. The problem with pre-contract agreements – and it’s been reported that Rangers are set to offer Hastie a four-year-deal – is that it leaves the player in limbo for the rest of the season. Motherwell obviously want to hold onto their best players but the financial reality in Scotland is that if Rangers and Celtic come calling, there’s not a lot you can do about it. Hastie’s future would be much better served at Ibrox too, and he will be thrilled about hooking up with Gerrard over the summer.
