Aberdeen left-back Graeme Shinnie has been linked with a pre-contract move to Rangers, with his deal at the Dons running out in the summer. However, both the player and the agent went on record to dismiss a move to Rangers out of hand, with a big rivalry between the two clubs making moves rare. If this was supposed to be a snub for Rangers though, it’s had exactly the opposite effect on their fans after an absolutely shocking performance by Scotland in their opening Euro 2020 game against Kazakhstan. Scotland were 2-0 down after just 10 minutes and then conceded again early in the second-half and Rangers fans all think they’ve dodged a massive bullet. Plenty of Rangers fans took to Twitter to slam the defender, who was terrible on Thursday afternoon, with one pundit saying he’d be lucky to play for Cove Rangers after today’s display. Shinnie was reported to be looking for a move to England but teams might be thinking again after watching his play for his country this afternoon. One thing is certain – Rangers fans are very happy that he’s got no interest in coming to Ibrox.
