OPINION
Steven Gerrard has named his starting XI for the replay of the Scottish Cup quarter-final against Aberdeen at Ibrox – and Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to implore Alfredo Morelos not to get booked.
Morelos has got a hot head as well as a brilliant striking foot.
He’s been sent off twice against Aberdeen already this season and picked up another booking in the first leg.
He’s a yellow card away from suspension in a potential semi-final against Celtic which would be a disaster.
Morelos was suspended for the other semi-final Rangers made this season, when they went on to lose to… Aberdeen. And what Rangers fans want tonight is a win and a clean bill for their star striker.
The difference this time is that they’ve got Jermain Defoe to step up and full in, but it’s an option they don’t want to have to use.
The team was announced on the official Rangers Twitter account ahead of the 7.45pm kick-off.

Morelos don’t get a red card

Morelos IS our best player and is always a risk of a yellow card. Gerrard obviously prepared to take the risk to get into the semi-final, but let's not forget we have Defoe who is more than capable of stepping up if required
