OPINION

Joe Worrall scored Rangers’ only goal in their 1-1 draw with Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals on Sunday, but it was not just his well-timed volley that led to many fans gushing over him in the game at Pittodrie. Worrall was an absolute rock in the defence. He did not have the best of starts but after the break he was brilliant, helping to keep the Dons attack at bay as the Gers earned a replay despite not playing at their best. When Rangers don’t play well, they usually struggle to defend well and therefore lose games. However Worrall was on top of everything on Sunday, blocking shots in the box, winning tackles, winning headers and of course, scoring his first goal for the club. The Nottingham Forest loanee has been widely criticised this season, but no one can speak bad of him after the action on Sunday afternoon.
