West Ham will launch a move to sign Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic if the Cottagers find themselves relegated this season, according to Claret and Hugh.

The reliable Hammers news outlet claim that with the Irons’ London rivals under serious threat of the drop back into the Championship next season, currently sitting in the drop zone on 17 points, Manuel Pellegrini’s side will act quickly to snap up the £60,000-a-week (source: Spotrac) Serbian.

It is stated that after his £15million move from Newcastle to Craven Cottage in 2018 that he has doubled in value and that Fulham’s demands will be around the £30million region.

Good move for West Ham?

Did someone call for an Andy Carroll replacement? That is exactly what Mitrovic will be if he does move to the London Stadium, albeit without the injury problems which have plagued the England international’s career.

Strong, powerful and with an eye for goal, Mitrovic might be considered a troublesome personality – not to mention a constant risk of a red card – but he has proved any doubters during his Newcastle days wrong with his performances at Fulham.

He is not as mobile as Marko Arnautovic but definitely can cause problems up front and so would not be a bad signing at all.

Likely to happen?

Barring a miracle of epic proportions, Fulham are relegated and so if this report is to be believed the Hammers will make a move.

The Cottagers may be forced to sell up to cut their financial outgoings and if the two London clubs can strike up a price, this actually seems a realistic move.
