West Ham could do with bolstering their defensive options in the summer and they can snatch a bargain by opting to sign Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.

The 29-year-old defender has struggled to feature for Man United this season, he’s made only three appearances, with injury getting the better of him.

According to the Daily Star due to Rojo’s back luck with injuries and the change in management occurring while he was unavailable, his future at the club looks bleak.

So bleak in fact that the newspaper go onto claim that Man United may let the centre-back exit on a free transfer in order to get his £80,000-a-week wage (Source: Spotrac) off their books.

This means the Hammers could snatch a bargain by moving for Rojo as not only might he cost absolutely nothing, he is a talented player who can do a job for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

The 29-year-old has plenty of Premier League experience having played 70 times in the division and has proven that he is able to be a reliable defender who is comfortable playing the ball out from the back.

Rojo would fit seemliness into the Hammers’ boss system for that reason and would make the club look sturdier at the back when called upon.

Also the defender is not only capable of playing at centre-back but is also adept at playing as a left-back.

The position of left-back has caused Pellegrini a bit of a headache this season as Arthur Masuaku struggled and looked a liability in his outings, and while Aaron Cresswell  has fared better, he isn’t the best defensively to say the least.

At times the English left-back has looked just as much as a liability as Masuaku and this means that the arrival of Rojo would at least ease Pellegrini’s headache regarding the position.

With all that in mind then the Hammers would be very wise to jump on an opportunity to sign a player of Rojo’s stature as he’d definitely improve the manger’s options.
