West Ham United are interested in signing Newell Old Boys midfielder Juan Sebastian Sforza, according to MilanNews.it.

The 17-year-old’s agent, Camillo Autieri, told the Italian news outlet that the Hammers are amongst nine clubs interested in the youngster, with Premier League giants Manchester City being keen, as well as Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich.

He tells the outlet that his player would cost in the region of £854,000 (one and a half million euros), and that Serie A club AC Milan are at the front of the queue to sign him.

Good move for West Ham?

Sforza is no doubt a very talented young player, so there is no doubt that West Ham would be wise to snap him up. The Hammers are famous for developing young players in their Academy, and that would be no different if they ended up signing the Argentine. He is clearly quite the hot-prospect due to the amount of clubs that are keen on swooping for him, so West Ham should definitely count themselves lucky if it was them who snapped him up.

Likely to happen?

Based on the fact that the agent has claimed that AC Milan are the most likely to sign Sforza, the possibility of the Irons signing him are very slim indeed. Add the fact that there are a host of other clubs wanting to achieve the same aim, and their chances would have shrunk even more. It would be hard to see West Ham winning the race to this youngster in the summer.
