West Ham fans usually adore defender Issa Diop but it’s safe to say he struggled to impress a number of them against Huddersfield Town. One Hammers fan claimed that the centre-back was untouchable due to being young and able to put a tackle in, in order to reveal they had been unimpressed by the player for many weeks. However when you consider that Manuel Pellegrini’s side surprisingly had to come from behind to beat the Terriers 4-3 on Saturday, nearly every player was going to come in for some stick. The Hammers had no business struggling against a team that had played as badly as the Terriers had this season, as they had more than enough quality to easily overcome them. Yet Diop, just like several of his high-profile teammates, didn’t put in a performance that reflected their ability and the Hammers nearly paid the price. Hopefully for the sake of the fans, you feel the defender has to up his performances in the coming weeks, to ensure a happy and peaceful end to the season.
