West Ham United duo Nathan Holland and Conor Coventry could be next in line to make an appearance in the first team, according to Football London.

The reliable outlet reports on their website that after the debut outing from Ben Johnson against Manchester City on Wednesday, the midfield pair could be in line to follow suit and appear for the first team themselves.

The report states that injury has held Holland back from forcing his way into the first team, adding that the likes of Mesaque Dju and goalkeeper Nathan Trott are firmly on Manuel Pellegrini’s radar.

OPINION

Pellegrini is beginning to have a bit of a reputation for bringing young players into the mix at West Ham isn’t he? First the likes of Grady Diangana, Declan Rice and Ben Johnson make their breakthroughs, and we could now be introduced to at least two more rising stars in the shapes of Holland and Coventry. Holland could have been introduced to the first team a lot earlier if it were not for injury, but now is a better time than ever to show Pellegrini his credentials and fulfil his ambition of making the starting XI. Coventry is also a player who is full of promise, and he would be more than capable of starring in the midfield due to the mishaps of Pedro Obiang lately. It remains to be seen just when these two players could make their breakthroughs, but fingers crossed it is sooner rather than later with the finish line fast approaching.
