Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier pulled back the curtains on the goings on behind-the-scenes at his club in order to reveal that Mauricio Pochettino is always having one-on-one chats with his players.

The Spurs full-back admitted that he was struggling for form currently but that it was just one of those things.

Trippier added that he wasn’t overly concerned and shared how having a good manager in the form of Pochettino helped him as the Spurs boss sits his players down individually, or as a group, to show what they can do better.

“It’s just one of those things (his bad form), it just happens,” Trippier told The Telegraph.

“You know when you’ve had a bad game. You can always improve, and we’ve got a good manager back at the club. He sits us down individually and as a group, shows where you could have done better, and with a good manager like that you can always only learn.”

While some may be ready to write Trippier off given that he has submitted some terrible performances during his 29 outings this season, and been a liability at times, the right-back has previously impressed for the club.

A player doesn’t just become bad overnight and given that Pochettino has a knack for getting the best out of players, if he is regularly going through what Tripper needs to do to improve, then the defender’s form will soon be magically fixed.

The Spurs manager has proven he has an eye for detail so he is bound to spot what is causing Trippier to not deliver the displays he is capable of, especially if he is constantly reviewing what the player can do better.

Also given that the Spurs 28-year-old gives the impression he is open minded and willing to learn; then Pochettino is sure to get through to him sooner rather than later.

This will hopefully be the situation that develops for the sake of Tottenham as they could do with Trippier showing the form he showed at the World Cup with England and last season for his club; as they need him firing on all cylinders when it comes to their Champions League and top-four Premier League ambitions.
