Tottenham are set to launch a reignited cut-price move for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon as the Cottagers prepare for relegation from the Premier League, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claim on their website that the young wide man, who can play as a winger or a wing back, has been on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar for the last three seasons and the Spurs boss is now hoping to seal a deal, with bids expected to start at £25million.

It is stated that 18-year-old Sessegnon would become an important member of the Lilywhites’ squad next season if he were to join, having made 28 Premier League appearances.

Good move for Tottenham?

The rumours linking Sessegnon with a move to north London have been circulating for some time and so it is no surprise to see him once again linked with a switch to Spurs.

That £25million starting price might seem steep but this is a man who does not turn 19 until the end of the season and as such you are paying for both the talent he possesses now as well as the potential he has to develop into a top player.

With Premier League experience already under his belt, he is well on the way to becoming something special and it is exactly why Tottenham are so keen on getting him on board.

If they can convince London rivals Fulham to let him go for a decent price, this could prove to be one of Spurs’ best deals for some time.

Likely to happen?

Fulham are all but relegated already and so Sessegnon has to make a decision about where he wants to be playing next season.

He is unlikely to pick the Championship over the Premier League and so Spurs are in with a real shot of getting him on board.

The only thing that might stop them is a rival outbidding them but for the moment Tottenham are very much the front runners.
