Tottenham are keeping close tabs on Fulham sensation Ryan Sessegnon and Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish ahead of the summer window, according to a reliable journalist.

Alasdair Gold, the Spurs correspondent of Football London claimed in a Q&A on the site on Monday (3.57pm) that Spurs are “closely following” Sessegnon and may make a fresh swoop for Grealish after failing to land him last summer.

Gold explained that Mauricio Pochettino has dropped plenty of hints about strengthening the squad and will not tolerate another window without a signing after two consecutive fallow windows.

OPINION

Sessegnon and Grealish have plenty of things in common; they’re English, richly talented and have their best years ahead of them. Sessegnon has had an up-and-down season at Fulham after strolling off with the Championship player of the year award last season while still in his teens. Still only 18, he has suffered some growing pains in a side fighting against relegation but has still demonstrated glimpses of a talent that make him hugely attractive to elite clubs. He would be a brilliant signing for the future. Grealish is 23 and starting to shake off the inconsistencies of youth. He has been absolutely flying since returning to the Villa side following a three-month injury absence and has spearheaded a revival in form that could yet take them into the play-offs. Spurs will surely have a much stronger chance of signing the attacking midfielder if Villa are in the Championship once again next season.
