Tottenham can romp to the Premier League title next season by signing Wilfried Zaha.

The tantalising possibility of the brilliant Crystal Palace forward lighting up the new White Hart Lane moved a step closer through a report on Spurs’ summer transfer plans in the Daily Mail.

It is said Zaha is one of five players being targeted by the Londoners ahead of the forthcoming transfer window along with Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen, Valencia’s Carlos Soler and Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Of that quintet, the capture of Palace 26-year-old would comfortably be the most exciting and deliver the instant improvement to the hugely impressive side assembled by Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs have had consecutive fallow windows but are preparing for a mass overhaul amid a likely string of senior player exits led by Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen.

The north Londoners are third in the Premier League and well placed to secure a fourth consecutive top-four finish, and have a mouthwatering Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City next month.

But something is clearly missing in Pochettino’s side, a winning mentality, greater maturity and a gamechanging talent or two.

Zaha, who is the outstanding player outside of the Premier League top-six clubs, is a fabulous talent approaching his peak.

His pace, never-ending array of tricks and ability to destroy defences would lift Lilywhites onn to the edges of their seats.

He not only creates goals, but scores them, too, with five from his last six Premier League matches, and would add a new dimension to a Spurs attack that doesn’t have a truly unpredictable presence.
