Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks will be assessed after limping out of the Champions League game against Dortmund on Wednesday night.

Winks was making his return after missing the north London derby against Arsenal but was forced off after 55 minutes.

Tottenham went on to win the game 1-0 to book their place in the Champions League quarter-final.

Evening Standard journalist Dan Kilpatrick made the claim on his Twitter account on Wednesday, saying the 23-year-old felt the groin/hip issue that he’s been suffering with.

OPINION

Tottenham’s 1-0 win against Dortmund, on the back of an even more impressive 3-0 win at home, surprised pundits and bucked their recent form in the Premier League. However, it looks like it might have come too soon for Winks, who made his return in the game after missing the 1-1 draw with Arsenal. He was forced off with a recurrence of the injury and he could miss the Southampton game, with tests to determine the extent of his injury. Tottenham will now be looking to get their bid for third place in the Premier League back on track while they wait to see who they’ll play in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Winks has become a regular part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side again after a serious injury and has forged a brilliant partnership with Moussa Sissoko in the heart of the Tottenham midfield. Spurs fans will be hoping he’s cleared for the Southampton clash.
