Kieran Trippier will miss Tottenham’s Champions League showdown against Borussia Dortmund after being omitted from the squad, it has been confirmed.
Mauricio Pochettino has told the official Spurs website that the wide defender has been left behind in London and will play no part in the last-16, second leg clash in Germany.
Trippier has been a mainstay of the starting XI this season but has been strongly criticised of late following a series of mixed performances.

Trippier’s absence is something of a surprise in one sense, as he has started 11 of the last 15 Premier League matches at right-back or right wing-back, and is the senior player in that position.
