OPINION
Kieran Trippier has been given an immediate opportunity to atone for his horror performance on Wednesday after being selected to start Saturday’s north London derby against Arsenal. The official Spurs website revealed that Mauricio Pochettino has made three changes from the Spurs team that lost 2-0 at Chelsea, with Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose returning to the defence and Victor Wanyama slotting into the midfield. Surprisingly, Trippier has kept his place ahead of Serge Aurier after a lamentable midweek display that featured one of the all-time great own goals. This has not gone down well with a significant section of the Tottenham fans, who went instantly berserk as soon as the line-up was announced on social media. Sure, Trippier has been well below-par for much of this season, but one thing they should bear in mind is that Trippier will at least be playing at right wing-back, which suits him better and gets the most out of his main strengths of overlapping on the flank and providing quality deliveries on the run.
