OPINION
On an afternoon when so many Tottenham players were below par, one man who got the supporters drooling was Moussa Sissoko. The midfielder’s relentless running, energy and desire showed up so many of his teammates and confirmed his transformation into one of the key players in Mauricio Pochettino’s side. On a day when Spurs had to come from behind to secure a 1-1 draw, and needed a late penalty save from Hugo Lloris after he went the right way to parry Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang’s powderpuff spot-kick, Sissoko was the heart and soul of the comeback. With Victor Wanyama looking a shadow of his former self until he was hauled off after an hour, the France international had to do the job of two players in the middle of the pitch. Sissoko was the scapegoat of a significant section of Spurs supporters back in early autumn. Now, he is a hero who they can’t get enough of.
