Graham Roberts has hailed the impact that Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko made in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Saturday.

Aaron Ramsey netted for the Gunners in the first half, but Kane managed to pull one back from the penalty spot, with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris saving Spurs’ blushes in the 89th minute by saving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s penalty effort.

Roberts drooled over the effort that Sissoko put in and raved about how the Gunners must be fed up of seeing Kane score against them, adding that he cannot wait to see the likes of Dele Alli, Harry Winks and Eric Dier back in the side.

“Well we did not play well but in some ways not losing to them the way we played feels like a win. Let’s get back ali winks dier and go again! Have to say again @MoussaSissoko what a shift you put in mate. And @HKane they must be sick of the sight of you,” he said on his personal Twitter account.

OPINION

Tottenham were very lucky to get a point from this clash, and they have Lloris to thank for that. However, in terms of Kane’s scoring record against Arsenal, Roberts is right to heap praise on him after this match. While he was not the best technically, he showed that he can be relied upon to score the important goals – even if he does need to improve somewhat. Sissoko may not have got on the scoresheet, but he was a constant thorn in Arsenal’s side throughout the afternoon. He made a vital clearance that would have allowed Aubameyang to run clear in the second half. Overall, his workrate was fantastic and he is one of the few Spurs players who deserve all of the plaudits. Tottenham were definitely not at their best on Saturday afternoon, and they were lucky to have the likes of Sissoko preventing further damage for them – either way, Chelsea are going to be very happy with this result.
