Leeds United are in with a shot of winning promotion to the Premier League this season and they will need to add some quality players to their squad if they reach the promise land.

The Whites sit second in the Championship table and while they won’t want to jump the gun, they should be keeping their eyes peeled for players who may helped them if they’re promoted.

With this in mind the Whites should start keeping tabs on Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed as he suggested he may be open to changing clubs in the summer.

The 24-year-old Saints is currently in red-hot form while on loan in the Championship with Blackburn and is showing everyone what a top-class player he is.

However Reed has grown accustomed to playing regular football and while he wants to be in the Premier League, he won’t rule out leaving Southampton as he shared that he is set to have talks upon returning.

“I have had numerous conversations with the manager here (Tony Mowbray) but I will see what happens in the summer,” the midfielder told the Lancashire Telegraph.

“I need to have a conversation with Southampton, debrief the loan move. I want to be playing in the Premier League.”

“It’s very important in my development to come out and get the games that I have done.

“Now I have had a taste of that I don’t want to let that go. I want to keep playing football, progressing and improving as a player.”

Reed has featured 31 times for Blackburn this season, scoring three goals and assisting six, and has managed to keep impressing despite playing in unfamiliar positions for the Championship side.

The 24-year-old is a tough-tackling midfielder who is also a sublime passer of the ball and the fact he has featured 17 times in the Premier League already in his career, means he could add some vital top-flight experience to Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

If Leeds won promotion they could play a blinder by grabbing Reed if he is set to be on the move as not only would he be keen to be in a side that might utilised him regularly in England’s top-flight but due to the fact he is still at a very promising age.
