Jim White heaped praise on Newcastle United attacker Salomon Rondon and he shared he thought the 29-year-old was unbelievable.
The talkSPORT host singled out the Magpies forward for praise before asking Magpies winger Matt Ritchie for his thoughts on the player based on seeing him first-hand.
“He (Rondon) is unbelievable Ian (Holloway) is right isn’t he Matt?” said White on talkSPORT (Monday March 18th, 12:13).
This prompted Ritchie to heap praise on Rondon and shared that he had been priceless for the club due to his goals ever since arriving on loan from West Bromwich Albion.
“He has been fantastic, great character, not only that but his goals, he is priceless really erm he has been fantastic since the day he walked in the door,” stated Ritchie.
“He had a few knocks when he walked through the door but he has come in the team and has given us a target to hit.”
Rondon has cemented a place in the hearts of Magpies supporters and even Rafa Benitez to some degree after wowing in recent weeks. Just like Ritchie said when the forward arrived on loan from West Brom, he didn’t exactly hit the ground running. However after a few appearances under his belt, it was clear the Magpies had pulled off a blinder by borrowing his services. Rondon has scored 10 goals, while assisting five this season, and seems to be in the form of his life. The Magpies were screaming out for a clinical forward ahead of Rondon arriving and he has definitely stepped up since joining. It’ll be interesting to see if the Magpies can sign him on a permanent basis from West Brom as they may face a battle to do so. This is because West Brom may want to hold onto Rondon if they win promotion and with them currently in the play-offs they do have a chance of being in England’s top-flight next season.
