Wolves captain Conor Coady heaped praise on teammates Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota after the 2-1 victory over Manchester United.

Ray Parlour asked the 28-year-old Wolves defender for his thoughts on the duo as he personally believes that the pair had been excellent this season.

Coady replied in order to rave about the ability of Jimenez and Jota as well as to highlight how they worked hard for the team by running their socks off for the team every single week.

“They’re incredible footballers, really really are, they’re the same, they run their socks off for the team every single week and you know how much it means to them,” said Coady on talkSPORT (Monday March 18th, 07:54am).

“You look at the way they both link up with each other and the relationship they have got at the minute, it’s fantastic.

“Looking at it from behind when playing, they’re an absolute pleasure to watch.

“It’ll be good if we can keep hold of Raul as it feels like he has been at the club a long, long time, we want to keep him there but obviously the club and him will come to a decision but I think to keep him will be a big thing for the football club.

“But as I’ve said the way they’re playing is fantastic.”

OPINION

It should be no surprise that Coady is in awe of Jimenez and Jota just as much as a lot of Wolves fans are. The attacking pair have been in sensational form this season and have been key in the club not only excelling in the Premier League but also in their side reaching the FA Cup semi-final. It’s good to hear that Coady believes that Jimenez and Jota aren’t just talented footballers but that they work hard for the team as it means so much to them. It’s also interesting that the centre-back opted to publicly share his desire for his team to secure the future of Jimenez. The 27-year-old is currently on loan from Benfica and after scoring 15 goals in 35 outings this season, there are going to be a whole host of clubs eager to sign him in the summer. This means Wolves potentially face a battle to have the forward at the club next season; and while it maybe expensive, the Premier League side should do all they can to get him.
