OPINION
Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates had an afternoon to forget in his team’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Saturday. The Tractor Boys have picked up a bit of late but they remain the worst team in the Championship, the fact that play off-chasing Forest couldn’t beat them is a major concern. Yates was part of the problem at Portman Road as he put in an extremely forgettable performance. He worked hard and put in a good shift from a defensive point of view, but he offered next to nothing going forward, It’s a shame because he was on a good run earlier in the season but he appears to have gone off the rails somewhat in recent weeks. He’s a young player and a decent talent but it’s debatable as to whether he’s good enough to be starting week in week out in the midst of a play off hunt. This game hammered home the reasons why he shouldn’t, and he’ll have to make sure he bounces back in some style after the international break.

Pants was probably the best player… Pele and Yates the worst… #nffc

Yates: 4
Didn’t get into the game. Didn’t create any opportunities. Lost possession easily. Do have a bit of sympathy for him as when he did tackle anyone he had nobody making forward runs.

So Yates has 2 good games and hasn’t done much since…is he going to be another Osborn? One of those average academy players who fans bang on about every week and expect him to be in the team week in week out…#NFFC

Also to add and this is my personal opinion but I would drop Yates we have better players sat in the bench #nffc
