OPINION
Ayoze Perez is such a frustrating player at times. You can see that he is immensely talented, and that he has the potential to be a real asset for this Newcastle United side, but far too often he underperforms or is bullied out of games. The Spaniard has been in fine form recently, but was back to his old ways against West Ham on Saturday evening. When he was;t going missing he was wandering offside repeatedly, and while the whole team struggled, he looked particularly off the pace. You watch him play and you just wish that he would put himself about a bit more, that he would show a little bit more fight and grit. It might not come naturally to him, but he needs to learn to battle a little harder because, at the moment, he is ineffective way too often. Rafa Benitez clearly thinks highly of him, but sometimes you have to ask why, and while he has looked better in recent weeks, if he puts in many more performances like the one he did on Saturday night he must surely be close to finding himself on the sidelines. There are many who would argue it would not be before time.
