It’s understandable that Everton fans were pretty upset after their side’s complete and utter capitulation against Newcastle United last weekend. From a commanding 2-0 lead at half time to losing 3-2 against a side beneath them in the table, their frustration was fairly clear from the moment Ayoze Perez’s equaliser went in – and the Toon Army have been loving it. The fact that former Sunderland keeper, and born and bred Mackem, Jordan Pickford was in net for the turnaround only made things sweeter for the Geordies, but their delight must have gone though the roof when the Liverpool Echo posted an article consisting of Toffee fans losing their heads over last weekends clash. The highlight of the piece was surely one fan referring to the Magpies as a bunch of ‘delusional barcodes’, and the comment riled many Toon fans up enough to respond in kind. The article has since been picked up by Newcastle Twitter, and is doing the rounds with a mixture of responses ranging from angry, to hilarious, to openly mocking Pickford for his performance. It’s fair to say that the Blues might well have been better letting this sleeping dog lie, and now that they’ve opened up a can of worms by having a go at a side that they got beaten by fair and square, they have to take the response on the chin.

3 points between us ahahahahahaha. The only delusional person here is you to be fair mate! More than a quarter of a billion spent in the last few seasons and only 3 points above a poor Newcastle side.

The same poor side who have been coached brilliantly by same same man whilst EFC continue to throw money away on expensive flops and replacing managers without direction,£250m+ spent and league difference? #scousemackems
