OPINION
Miguel Almiron may not have scored for Newcastle United yet, but what an impact he has had on Rafa Benitez’s side. The Paraguayan has injected a newfound sense of daring and impetus into the Magpies’ team, and they look like a much better team with him pulling the strings. That proved to be the case again against Bournemouth on Saturday, when the 24-year-old looked as lively and promising as ever. The way that he runs at defenders must absolutely terrifying to face up against, and there won’t be many in the league who fancy their chances against the flying South American. He seems to glide across the turf, and the way that he sprinted half the length of the field before being cynically brought down by Jefferson Lerma to win the free kick that Salomon Rondon scored the opener from was simply magnificent. There were concerns that the playmaker would take a while to adapt, or that he might be too flimsy for the Premier League, but with every passing match he seems to be putting those doubts further and further to bed. A goal would really top off his recent performances, but make no mistake, Almiron is a player.

Must be said, Almirón’s counter attacking dribble was penetrating and excellent. Drew the foul allowing Rondón a chance from the set piece. Brilliant. #NUFC
