COMMENTARY
Once again it was Liverpool’s front three stealing the headlines – Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all contributing to at least one goal – against Burnley and their teammates behind them will be relieved that they have such reliable goalscorers ahead of them. It seems as though Anfield favourite Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is adored by the Reds faithful, was not up to the standards expected by the supporters and quite frankly they have a point. The right back lacked both the quality in attack to cause much danger with his crosses, many of which missed everyone in the box, while he was also tormented by the Clarets’ Dwight McNeil when trying to defend. He and everyone at Liverpool know what he is capable of and this was a disappointing display from his perspective. If Liverpool do want to remain in the title hunt they have got to make sure that everyone is playing at 100 per cent and while it might be harsh to swing the axe on Alexander-Arnold after one poor outing, Jurgen Klopp might well be thinking about it in future games.
