Celtic boss Neil Lennon has revealed that the Hoops trio of Ryan Christie, Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor could be back in “a few weeks”.

Christie missed the win over Hearts in midweek due to a hamstring injury, Rogic has been out since February with a knee injury he sustained on international duty, and McGregor sustained a calf knock in the recent Europa League defeat to Valencia.

All three players are weeks away from a return to action, while defender Dedryck Boyata has brushed off a knock from the Hearts clash.

“Tom, Callum and Ryan Christie will be a few weeks until we’ll have them back. Dedryck has reacted well to a knock and will be ready for tomorrow,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Record.

OPINION

Lennon will no doubt be ecstatic when these three players eventually return to normality in a few weeks time. The Hoops would be virtually unstoppable with them back in the team, and this is no doubt an exciting prospect for the manager. Christie has been a revelation this season and has arguably been one of Celtic’s best players this season, so to have him back will be a major boost. Rogic is a hugely gifted player as well, and defences are often baffled by his trickery when he is on the pitch – and to have him back at such an important stage of the season may be just the lift the fans needed after the departure of Brendan Rodgers to Leicester this week. McGregor is also a player who makes a valuable contribution to the team, and with these three in the midfield, the Hoops will be very hard to stop.
