Leeds United must make an attempt to sign Manchester United attacker Andreas Pereira in the summer transfer window if the Yorkshire club achieves promotion to the Premier League.

Although Marcelo Bielsa’s side dropped down to third on Saturday, they are still one of the best teams in the Championship and look as though they could still win promotion, whether it’s automatically or through the play-offs.

If they manage that then the summer transfer window is going to be huge, and one player they must sign is Man United’s Pereira, who reportedly could be made available on loan.

According to the Sun, the Red Devils are considering whether to let the one-time Brazil international leave on a season-long loan in the summer in order for him to continue his development.

Pereira is 23-years-old, but he has only managed 28 first team appearances for Man United, with only 15 of them coming this season.

It is understood that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants the Belgium-born attacker to sign a new four-year deal at Old Trafford before being loaned out and the Premier League giants currently value the player at being worth £15million.

While it would be hard for Leeds to pry Pereira way from Old Trafford on a permanent deal, signing him on loan would surely be achievable if they win promotion this term.

Marcelo Bielsa is going to need some new attacking options in the summer.

Jack Harrion and Izzy Brown will both see their loan deals expire while some other players might need to be improved upon.

Pereira can play on either wing or as a No 10 behind a striker, so he is someone who can fill many roles, which is a trait that Bielsa loves to have in his players.

It would be a no-brainer for Leeds to sign the Man United ace and surely the club’s fanbase would be thrilled if they were to seal a deal for him in the summer transfer window.
