Leeds are on the lookout for players capable of keeping them in the Premier League next season and they’ve already been linked with the hugely talented Liverpool attacker Harry Wilson, currently turning heads at Derby.

The Sun’s transfer expert Alan Nixon said that Leeds wanted him on loan if they got promoted and the possibility of that happening has increased after the most recent development.

Leicester were keen on Wilson but Goal has reported that Brendan Rodgers’ arrival could scupper that, leaving the path clear for Leeds.

Goal claim that “discussions have already taken place with the player and his representatives as to his next move” and that it’s unlikely to be with Leicester.

Rodgers wanted Wilson at Celtic this season but Liverpool didn’t trust him using younger players over the season and he landed at Derby.

Liverpool want him to play in the Premier League and Leeds would be a fantastic place for him to develop and learn his craft, under manager Marcelo Bielsa.

He’s proved that he’s more than happy to trust young players if they’re good enough, with several Under-23s making huge strides under him, such as Jack Clarke.

With Leicester now seemingly out of the race, Victor Orta must step-up the pursuit of Wilson and try to get a deal agreed subject to their Premier League status next season.

The fact they don’t know where they’re playing football next season goes against them but by the time that issue is settled, there will still be plenty of time for Liverpool to place him somewhere else.

He would be a fantastic signing for Leeds and the thought of him on the right and Clarke on the left is a mouth-watering one.
