Leeds United are in hot pursuit of QPR attacker Luke Freeman, according to talkSPORT.

The broadcaster claims that the Whites are interested in signing the 26-year-old if they are promoted to the Premier League this season and have sent scouts to watch over the ex-Arsenal player in recent months.

It is understood that QPR need to trim their wagebill at the end of the season and they will cash in on Freeman for the right price.

Good move for Leeds?

As talkSPORT says, Freeman has been one of the stand-out players in the Championship this season and he would be a good signing for any team in the second-tier.

He has scored nine goals and supplied six assists in 39 appearances across all competitions and has looked very impressive in what is a very average team.

However there have to be doubts about whether Freeman is Premier League quality.

If Leeds are promoted, fans would surely hope that Victor Orta has his sights on more exciting players than Freeman, who has never played in the top-flight, spending most of his career in League One.

He would be a good addition for top Championship teams, but the Premier League might be a step too far for him.

Likely to happen?

Leeds are interested in Freeman and QPR look as though they would be ready to offload their star man in the summer.

That means that a move could happen, however the summer transfer window is still a long way away, and plenty can happen between now and then.
