Kyle Walker has reacted on Twitter after Manchester City were drawn to take on his former club Tottenham in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Friday’s draw means that Walker could stop his former team-mates from progressing to a potential semi-final against either Ajax or Juventus.

Walker took to his personal Twitter account after the draw was made, delivering a four-word verdict on the announcement.

“This will be fun,” the England right-back said.

OPINION

We’re sure it will be fun, for Walker anyway. Tottenham would surely have preferred a draw against any other team in the competition than Man City. Spurs have not beaten the Citizens in their last four meetings, losing all of the last three. They’re a team that Mauricio Pochettino has struggled to get the better of ever since Walker joined them, and the England international is no doubt relishing the chance to play against some of his former team-mates. Both teams will more than likely be happy with their potential semi-final opponents. Ajax have the ability to pull off a shock against Juventus, who are looking like a one-man team in the Champions League this term. However that ‘one man’ is Cristiano Ronaldo. Either way, it’s better than potentially playing Manchester United, Liverpool or Barcelona in the semi-final. Man City will fancy themselves to reach the final whereas with Spurs, they would have to pull off a massive shock to even reach the next round.
