Leeds United attacker Jack Clarke will be back in first team training on Monday, his agent Ian Harte has confirmed.

Clarke, 18, has been out of action since collapsing on the bench in the 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough on February 9th.

The youngster has been recovering slowly from a virus since, and ex-Leeds star Harte has announced that he will be back with Marcelo Bielsa’s squad at the start of next week.

Ahead of Leeds’ clash against West Brom on Friday night, Harte said via his personal Twitter account: “Good luck to Leeds tonight! Hopefully get the three points and delighted that Jack Clarke will be back with first team Monday.”

It is going to be a huge boost for Leeds to have Clarke back. He gave everyone quite a scare when he was rushed to hospital earlier in February, but thankfully it was nothing too serious and he is on the verge of returning to fitness. Leeds have done a great job of ensuring that Clarke’s health is put first. No one has rushed him back and that just shows how well the Yorkshire giants are run at the moment. Clarke has been a bit of a miss for Leeds while he has been out. He might not go straight back into Bielsa’s first team squad as it could take him some time to get fully up to speed, but the Whites need all the players that can get for their vital run-in. Leeds face West Brom on Friday night and if they lose that they are in a lot of trouble in the race for the top-two. Hopefully Clarke can return and provide some much-needed spark in the attack.
