Everton are willing to send first team defender Yerry Mina out on loan to Fenerbahce, according to Dirilis Postasi.

The Turkish newspaper claims on their website that the Toffees are willing to send their 6ft 5in [Transfermarkt] centre-back – who has made 12 Premier League appearances since signing in the summer – on loan to the Super Lig outfit.

The report adds that the Toffees are also plotting to let winger Henry Onyekuru, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, join Fenerbahce as well.

Good move for Everton?

It remains to be seen whether this would be a good move for Everton. If they extend Kurt Zouma’s loan spell, then letting Mina leave temporarily would be the best bet in terms of him getting game time. If they do not, then surely they would need the Colombian enforcer to take over? There is no doubt that he is quality defender, but unfortunately he has not been given the chance to showcase that this season.

Likely to happen?

Yes, this move is likely to happen, but it all depends on Zouma really. Everton’s need for a central defender will grow if he leaves, and vice versa. Seeing as he has not had much game time this season, perhaps he would push for a loan move himself? He no doubt wants game time, and that is something that Marco Silva cannot necessarily guarantee him at the moment. Mina may have signed not long ago, but do not be surprised if this switch ends up happening.
